Sweet baked goods manufacturer Hostess Brands LLC opened a new distribution center in Edgerton, KS last week, a release by the Kansas Department of Commerce said. The new facility offers the company a number of advantages because it is located near the firm’s plant in Emporia, KS and Hostess’ corporate office.
“Our new distribution enter supports our overall distribution strategy, which is to ensure customers have access to the freshest snacks possible, and positions Hostess for future growth,” John Kalal, senior vice president of Bakery Operations and Supply Chain at Hostess Brands, said in a statement. “We look forward to working with these partners, as well as Northpoint Development in the years to come.”
Elevate Edgerton, KCP&L, KCADC, KC SmartPort, Block Real Estate Services and JLL also are partners in the project.
“We are grateful for our partnership with the State of Kansas Commerce Department and the City of Edgerton and are appreciative of their aid and assistance in the development of this new facility,” said Andy Callahan, chief executive officer of Hostess Brands, in the release. “We look forward to working with these partners, as well as Northpoint Development in the years to come.”
