LMT Group Opens International Customer Center
LMT Group opens international customer center.

On September 10, 2015, the LMT Group celebrated the opening of Fette Compacting's machine construction division’s newly established customer center in Schwarzenbek. Following almost a year of construction, the very latest testing and acceptance rooms for tablet presses have been unveiled, in addition to new office space, covering approximately 4000 square meters.

Between 2010 and 2014, the LMT Group invested about 100 million euros in the overall development of the company group. Almost 40 million euros of this went to the infrastructure at Schwarzenbek. The company management is pushing its comprehensive renewal strategy forwards with the opening of the customer center for Fette Compacting, a world leader in tableting technology.

"At a cost of around 13 million euros, our new building is not only the biggest single investment in the history of the LMT Group, but above all it gives expression to the company strategy, supported by the family of partners, of investing earnestly in innovation, efficiency and customer relations,” said Olaf J. Müller, spokesman for the management of the LMT Group, and general manager of Fette Compacting. “It therefore clearly commits Schwarzenbek as a technological site."

The foundation for this is provided by the sustained and successful development of the LMT Group's business over the years. This is further evidenced by the number of employees at the site: since 2010, the number of staff at Schwarzenbek has kept growing – investment has created new jobs. Altogether about 1000 employees now work at the site, making the group the largest employer in the Duchy of Lauenburg administrative region.

"The new customer center at Fette Compacting and our LMT Group Academy in Schwarzenbek together form a competence center for all aspects of tablet production, one that is unique in the world,” said Müller. “On top of long-term investment in our infrastructure, our focus is on the continuous further development and education of our employees."

Partner Regine Bengel underlines the significance of the new construction, saying "Sustainability governs our thoughts and our actions. Through the investment in Fette Compacting's new customer center, we are giving long-term reinforcement to the Schwarzenbek site and its innovative capability within Fette Compacting's global competence network."

In this new construction, Fette Compacting is making available the most modern testing and acceptance rooms for tablet presses in the world. In these rooms, customers from the pharmaceutical, food, and chemical industries are able to participate in every step in the process of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). By testing all machine functions, and by performing pressing trials under production-like conditions, Fette Compacting makes sure that the equipment will perform its processes securely and efficiently at the customer's site.

In another, directly adjacent part of the building, additional space for the technical departments will be created starting in 2016.
