German firm Henkel held a ribbon cutting event on June 20 to mark the beginning of operations at its recently-expanded production facility in West Hazelton, PA, the company announced in a recent press release. Investing $19 million into the project, Henkel added a new production line for Dial body wash and Dial liquid hand soap at the plant.

“This is an exciting time for the West Hazelton plant” Tricia Fair, plant manager, said in a statement. “The West Hazelton facility has a long history of manufacturing Dial products and we are very pleased that Henkel’s investment will drive growth and bring new jobs to our community. The line expansion is an investment in the future of both the company and the brand’s mission.”

Production on the new line began on June 17. As a result of the project, 14 new jobs were created, lifting the headcount of the plant to 180.

“Enhanced production capabilities such as this investment at West Hazelton helps position our beauty care business for success and provide consumers and customers with the innovative, high-quality products that they have come to love and expect from Henkel,” said Heather Wallace, senior vice president and general manager of Henkel Beauty Care North America, in the release.

Dial brand products have been sold in the U.S. for more than 70 years.
