A fire broke out at the Baker Produce food processing plant in Kennewick, WA late Tuesday night that caused significant damages to the facility, several local news organizations reported.

Called to the scene at about 11:30 p.m., firefighters determined that the blaze was in a warehouse at the property, coverage by the Tri-City Herald said. 

“Crews pushed hard to find a deep seated fire in the warehouse and it took several hours to get it controlled,” the Kennewick Firefighters Union IAFF Local 1296 said in a Facebook post. “They were met with tremendous heat, zero visibility, and compromised construction.”

Kennewick Fire Battalion Chief Tod Kreutz told the Tri-City Herald that crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to manufacturing equipment in the facility. Fire officials said in a report by NBC affiliate KDNO that packaging materials, potatoes, and paper acted as fuel during the blaze. 

No injuries were logged during the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
