A large fire broke out in a piece of equipment at the Bimbo Bakeries plant in Fergus Falls, MN last Thursday night, according to a report by the Fergus Falls Daily Journal.

The newspaper was told by a local fire official that the blaze likely started because friction in a chain drive burned insulation inside an oven. Crews managed to control the fire within an hour. Coverage by the Daily Journal said the building was not damaged during the incident and employees were trying to return the oven to service when the scene was cleared.

In September, Powder & Bulk Solids reported that three firefighters were injured while putting out a fire in a warehouse at a Bimbo Bakeries plant in Montebello, CA.
