A conveyor belt system exploded at the Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) corn processing plant in Decatur, IL last Friday night, the Decatur Herald & Review reported. 

The blast was reported at about 8 p.m. and caused no injuries, ADM spokesperson Jackie Anderson told the newspaper. The company said it is investigating the cause of the incident and working to gauge the level of damage to the facility. 

Last November, emergency personnel were called to the Decatur facility for a dust explosion and fire in a grain elevator, Powder & Bulk Solids reported. No injuries were logged during that incident. 

ADM’s 1125-acre production complex in Decatur produces bulk food ingredients from corn and soybeans, ethanol, and lysine, according to information provided by The Center for Land Use Interpretation.
