ConAgra Foods Names Nystedt Treasurer and Investor Relations Officer

ConAgra Foods Inc. has appointed Johan Nystedt vice president, treasurer and investor relations officer, effective April 11, 2016. Nystedt will be based in Chicago and report to chief financial officer, John Gehring.

Nystedt joins ConAgra Foods from Levi Strauss & Co., where he most recently served as corporate treasurer and vice president of finance, and led the company’s global treasury, business development, and investor relations functions. Prior to joining Levi Strauss in 2011, he spent four years at Kraft Foods Inc., as the assistant treasurer and six years at Altria Group Inc., in global corporate finance.

“Johan is a proven and experienced financial executive and we are pleased to welcome him to the ConAgra team,” said John Gehring, chief financial officer, ConAgra Foods. “His deep experience across a range of critical functions including financing, M&A, divestitures, post-acquisition integration, as well as in building and maintaining strong investor relationships will be a tremendous addition to our treasury and investor relations functions.”

“ConAgra is a strong company with a clear plan to drive profitable growth,” said Nystedt. “I’m excited to work closely with John and the team as we continue to drive value for shareholders.”

ConAgra Foods has combined the roles of treasurer and head of investor relations, and Nystedt will be working closely with Scott Messel, senior vice president, treasurer, and Chris Klinefelter, vice president, investor relations, to transition their responsibilities over the next several months. Messel and Klinefelter will be leaving the company in the fall to pursue other interests.

“On behalf of ConAgra Foods, I want to thank Scott and Chris for their many valuable contributions to ConAgra Foods over the years and wish them well in their future endeavors,” said Gehring.

Nystedt earned a master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics in Stockholm, Sweden.
