Bostik Opens Factory in the Philippines

Arkema’s specialty adhesives line Bostik has expanded its cementitious powder production capabilities with the opening of its new factory in the Philippines, the company announced on Tuesday.

Bostik, which produces adhesive products for construction, consumer, and industrial markets, has been active in the Philippines since 2005. The company also recently opened facilities in Mexico, the United States, India, Brazil, and Malaysia.

“We are pleased to continue Bostik’s expansion in the Philippines with the opening of this new plant,” said Bostik’s senior vice president of Asia, Jeffrey Merkt, said at the plant’s opening on March 18. “Development in high growth geographic regions is one of the central components of our growth strategy and this new facility will enable us to significantly grow our construction business in this important market.”

The new plant, located in Misamis Oriental, will help serve construction customers in the “high-growth” Mindanao and Visayas regions, the company said.
