Food firm Ajinomoto Windsor is planning a $20 million project at its Oakland, MS frozen food manufacturing plant to add a new production line, the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) announced in a recent press release. 

“Ajinomoto Windsor is very appreciative of the support we have received from the city of Oakland, Yalobusha County, and the state of Mississippi since we began our journey together in 2007,” said Steve Charles, vice president of operations at the food company, in a statement. “We are excited about this new opportunity as we look to continue to grow our operations here in Mississippi.”

The company acquired the 140,000-sq-ft plant in 2007. About 60 new positions will be added to the facility’s current headcount of 312. 

Ajinomoto Windsor was created through a merger of Windsor Foods and Ajinomoto Co. in 2014. The company produces frozen food products used by the restaurant and foodservice industries in nine plants in the U.S. across six states.
