Load Cell
The Smart Force Transducer III (SFT III) incorporates the latest digital weighing technology for gravimetric feeding and metering applications. A mechanical package designed and optimized for duty in process applications involving single-point weighing, the system is standard in the company’s Smart weigh belt feeders, K4G gravimetric blender, and Smart flowmeters. Its single vibrating wire and unique parallelogram design resist torsional loading, making it suitable for unconstrained single-point weighing. Sealed in a NEMA 4/IP65 housing, the load cell’s low power requirement makes it intrinsically safe and approved for ATEX 0, 1, and 2 dust and gas environments. With powerful on-board microprocessors, each sensor is a fully digital, integrated, intelligent weighing system. An integrated, self-adapting low-pass digital filter eliminates environmentally and machine-induced vibration. Field calibration is never required.

High-Speed Net-Weight Scale
Meeting the highest demands of precision weighing, performance, and reliability, this gravity-fed electronic net-weigh scale combines the speed of a duplex scale with the advantages of a simplex (reduced overall dimensions, discharge in line with the bag, lower cost, etc.). The scale incorporates a weigh hopper directly suspended at two strain-guage load cells and a servomotor-controlled feed gate that enables production speeds up to 35 weighments per minute. It also offers excellent feed control. The advanced weight controller has more than 200 programs and provides performance feedback, fine-tuning capabilities, statistical data, and more.

Belt Scale
The BEMP single-idler belt scale is used for weighing and totalizing bulk solid materials up to 15,000 tn/hr that have continuous flow rates. Whether the conveyor uses 18- or 60-in.-wide CEMA idlers, the scale easily mounts to the conveyor frame using only four bolts. Utilizing two NTEP-approved single-point load cells and the Intecont MS integrator, accuracies of ±1% of totalized weight are possible. Fieldbus connections to the process supervisor can also be provided.

Conveyor Belt Scale
The single-idler Quarry King conveyor belt scale was designed for outdoor conveyor weighing of dusty fines and stonelike aggregate materials, where rugged construction and spillproof and jamproof suspension are the most valuable attributes. Complementing the unit’s proven rocking flexure fulcrums is a completely new pipestem single-idler suspension system, which incorporates built-in storage for its calibration weight. Test chains are not required. This combination of elements provides important advantages for operations in which on-going dust buildup and spilled aggregates are known to foul conventional suspension designs. Applications include 18–48-in.-wide troughed belt conveyors that operate up to 600 fpm and at inclines up to 18°.

Process Indicator
For use in process automation applications, the X3 process indicator provides easy control of process hopper scales with strain gauge load cells. The standard Ethernet TCP/IP interface allows easy integration into existing computer networks via integrated OPC-Server technology, providing instant transmission of weight values, process status messages, or other controllable information. Wireless LAN can be used with any standard WLAN module, and remote service is available through a virtual private network connection. For simple identification within networks, an IP address is automatically assigned to the indicator by the unit or a network server, or it can be assigned manually by the user.

Remote Display
The RD2 high-visibility remote display for industrial applications is a bright red LED that includes six extra-wide 2½-in.-high characters for easy weight viewing over long distances. With 10 brightness settings, the display can be adjusted for specific indoor or outdoor requirements. Whether the application necessitates monitoring weight on tanks, bins, vehicle scales, or process control systems, the RD2 includes an RS-232 interface that is configurable to meet the communications requirements of the weighing instrumentation. The stainless-steel enclosure is rated NEMA4/IP66 for added protection from the water and dust inherent in industrial environments. The RD2 includes a versatile mounting bracket for positioning the unit on a horizontal or vertical surface (a wall or desk), and its compact size makes it ideal for mounting in almost any location.

Manual-Dump-to-Rigid-Bin Weigh Batching System
This system eliminates dust during manual dumping from bags, boxes, drums, and other containers. It delumps the material and feeds it gravimetrically from a mezzanine level into rigid bins placed on a floor scale. The unit features a high-velocity vacuum fan that draws airborne dust from the operator’s atmosphere onto two cartridge filters. Automatic reverse-pulse filter cleaning allows continuous, efficient operation. Timer-activated solenoid valves release short blasts of compressed plant air inside the cartridge filters, causing dust buildup on the outer filter surfaces to fall into the hopper. The unit’s surge hopper discharges into a low-profile delumping device with dual rotors and three-point heads, which break up agglomerates that have formed in the bag. On-size material is discharged into a gravimetric feeder that is connected via a PLC to a scale on the plant floor, allowing material with accurate batch weights to be loaded into rigid totes placed on the scale.

Weight Indicator and Controller
The Evolution E1310 indicator and controller is an advanced weighing and process control instrument that can be fully programmed to fulfill virtually any industrial application. Faster and more flexible than its predecessor, it can function as a stand-alone control system or it can be fully integrated with all major networks and SCADA systems. In addition, the unit can be programmed to automatically report scale or indicator errors to the company’s technical service center via an optional modem connection or industrial network. Technicians can then communicate with the indicator to evaluate production status and determine remedial action without having to visit the site. The E1310 supports all major Fieldbus protocols with optional network interface cards, including DeviceNet, ProfiBus, ControlNet, InterBus, and ModBus Plus. It also supports nonproprietary protocols through a 10/100 Ethernet network such as ModBus TCP, TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, FTP, and Ethernet/IP.

Automated Powder Batching System
This company offers a family of batching systems for the efficient management of dry bulk, powdered, flaked, and granular ingredients. The system has round USDA polyethylene dispensers with sides sloping to a shear wall drop. This feature prevents the bridging effect that is common in powder processing and that complicates material flow. The dispenser design offers integral, centralized dust collection that substantially reduces the generation of airborne dusts. The system incorporates super polypropylene sacks that hold up to 3000 lb of incoming raw material. These sacks minimize storage space and simplify dunnage and landfilling. Mounted to a patented frame, the sacks are forklifted to the dispenser, eliminating the injury risk and time constraints of manual handling. A rail-mounted scale cart, robotic device, or AGV moves between dispensers. Material is discharged into the cart through stainless-steel pneumatic slide gates according to the programmed recipe. Various vibratory devices can be used to ensure optimum flow rates. Load cells mounted on the vehicle are one of several ways the system guarantees high batch accuracy.
