Vortex Valves has named Shawn Opat as regional sales manager for the Upper Midwest and Northeastern Region, including the cities of Boston, Chicago, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia, and Toronto. He reports to Vortex vice president of North American sales, Jason Marcotte.

“We are delighted to see Shawn return to Vortex to lead our sales effort in an important and growing area for Vortex,” said Marcotte. “His overall sales management and business development experience will add to positive customer experiences and increased responsiveness.”

Opat headed Vortex sales for the Eastern Seaboard Region in 1998 and 1999, joining the company as a sales engineer in 1995. Most recently he was a territory account executive for Con-way Freight, director of sales for G.L. Huyett, and worked in business development for United Parcel Service. Opat is a graduate of Kansas State University.
