The FS-M metering valve provides a unique approach to gravity flow metering applications from a silo, hopper, or weigh bin. The narrow geometry means it is well suited for low-headroom installations. Available in a range of sizes from 6–16 in. in diameter, the impeller valve can handle a wide range of applications from abrasive materials, food, specialty chemicals, and plastics. The valve body is aluminum with a stainless steel inner ring. The impeller is six bladed with a mirror finish, and is driven by a standard motor that can be coupled to a variable frequency drive for feed control. The design is maintenance free since the shaft is mounted in self-lubricating bronze bearings and can handle from 0–200°F, optional adders can be provided to allow operation up to 480°F.
