110608.tifCustom Airlocks
These rugged airlocks are available in customized fabricated and machined models for pneumatic systems, gravity feeds, and volumetric discharge devices. Fabricated models handle dust collection, plastics, feeds, and corrosive chemicals where pressure differentials are 20 in. of water column or less. Urethane wipers provide a tight fit between fabricated rotors and housings. The airlocks have cast housings for added durability and are designed for higher pressures as well as difficult and abrasive materials. Rotor to housing fit is a tight 4 to 6 thousandths of an inch. Both models offer carbon and stainless steel rotor and housing options. Airlanco, Falls City, NE 800-500-9777 www.airlanco.com

Slide Diverter Valve
The 3-Position slide diverter valve features a sealing method that uses regulated compressed air applied to the sealing rings. This results in an airtight seal between the inlet and outlet ports and allows the valve to can be used in either pressure or vacuum pneumatic conveying systems. This design minimizes line deflection. Valves are bi-directional and are ideal for divert or converge applications. Smoot, Kansas City, KS 800-748-7000 www.magnumsystems.com

110614.tifButterfly Valves
VM butterfly valves are suited for powders, liquid slurries, high-pressure, and/or extreme temperature applications. Available with standard 10-bar capability, they are offered with options that include manual or pneumatic actuation, wafer or flange mounts, and a wide range of body, disc, and seat materials. They are ideal for the chemical, food, and water treatment industries. This line provides low pressure drops, consequently providing high energy savings. The valves also provide total and permanent water tightness and are easy to install with virtually no maintenance. They have interchangeable parts, no joints when assembled between flanges, and the seats are easy to replace. Kemutec, Bristol, PA 215-788-8013 www.KemutecUSA.com

Roller Gates
Ideal for dust collection applications, the Roller Gate is engineered specifically for handling dry bulk material in gravity flow applications where positive material shutoff and a dust-tight seal are required. It can be applied to shut off the discharge of dust collection systems or as a damper valve and adapts easily to new or existing systems thanks to a wide selection of gate positioning controls, position indication switches, and flanges. A wear-compensating blade seals and nylon adjustable cam rollers enhance service life, and blade seals are replaceable without removing the valve from the processing line. The unit also offers a wide variety of modifications to accommodate a range of temperatures as well as corrosive, humid, and explosive environments. Standard sizes are from 6 to 36 in. Vortex Valves North America, Salina, KS 785-825-7177 www.vortexvalves.com

110620.tifGate Lock
This gate lock assembly is a low-maintenance alternative to the traditional rotary airlock feeder and provides a positive seal that can accommodate either full vacuum or pressure up to 100 PSIG. The air-operated seat inflates to provide a long-lasting, high-integrity seal and easily handles high cycling of dry granular or fine powdered materials. The seat automatically compensates for wear when it inflates against the disc, extending valve life. The assembly is available in sizes from 2 to 30 in. diam and in any length desired. Posi-flate, St. Paul, MN 651-484-5800 www.posiflate.com

Low-Leakage Rotary Valves
Saving energy was the underlying factor for the development of a low-leakage rotary valve for pneumatic conveying of granular and powder products. The newly-developed rotor is designed with expanded tips at the end of the rotor blades. Wider vanes result in lower air leakage. In combination with the special rotor design, the number of rotor blades was increased. The valves are available for various differential pressure applications for 22 to 50 psi. The valves are designed for conveying capacities of 5000 to 200,000 lb/hr. The combination of wide end tips, increased number of vanes, and optimized venting results in low air leakage. The valves are available in stainless steel and stainless steel/AL combination. Various sizes are available as quick clean valve version. Pelletron Corp., Lancaster, PA 717-293-4008 www.pelletroncorp.com

110622.tifMaximum-Duty Rotary Valve
The Maximum-Duty (MD) Aerolock rotary valve is engineered for heavy to severe industrial service with pressure differentials up to 20 PSI and/or temperatures of 250°F. The unit is designed to withstand severe shock loads and elevated temperatures consistent with continuous 24-hour use. The MD is commonly used with some of the most challenging materials including minerals, chemicals, fillers, food ingredients, filled pellets, PVC compound, and diatomaceous earth. The MD has a 10-blade rotor that maintains a minimum three-blade labyrinth seal to minimize air leakage. The 10-blade rotor is available with flat or relieved tips in several rotor choices including open-ended, hubbed, reduced displacement, and staggered pocket. It utilizes two tapered roller bearings on both the thrust and drive sides. Materials of construction include carbon and stainless steel with multiple coating options. K-Tron Process Group/K-Tron Premier, Salina, KS 785-825-1611 www.ktron.com

Side-Entry Rotary Valves
Side-entry rotary valves are often used when granular bulk materials are being fed because the indirect inlet protects pellets and cubes from being damaged by the rotor. The side-entry feature is particularly useful when the material being fed is under a “head” or pressure from above. The PMV-SE (for side entry) rotary valve will be available in standard-duty, severe-duty, and ultra-valve models, and features the same modular construction as the company’s PMV valves. Most existing PMV parts will fit the SE model, making the PMV-SE a cost-effective solution to handling fragile or dimensional materials. Precision Machine & Manufacturing Inc., Eugene, OR 800-722-9841 www.premach.com

110629.tifDust Collector Rotary Valve
The Dust Collector Series (DCS) rotary valve is suited for general use under dust collectors, cyclones, and hoppers. These valves offer eight-blade rotors, precision machining, and rugged cast iron housing for efficient operation. In a case where pressure differential exists, such as when feeding pneumatic conveying lines, the Heavy Duty Series rotary valve is best suited for feeding the material accordingly. The Quick-Take-Apart Series (QTA) rotary valve is made for applications where frequent removal of the valve internals is required. This valve permits tool-less removal of the rotor and end plate as one piece, eliminating the time-consuming step of “gapping” the rotor during re-assembly. When encountering alumina, coke, fly ash, glass frit, and other highly abrasive products, the Ceramic Series rotary valve sustains its durability and achieves at least 3-5 times longer life compared to chrome and Ni-hard valves. A high-performance, thick wear layer of alumina ceramic coating maintains the valve’s precision tolerances longer. Prater-Sterling, Bolingbrook, IL 630-759-9595 www.prater-sterling.com
