SOCMA Welcomes Seven New Members in First Quarter

The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) welcomed seven new companies into its ranks as more and more specialty chemical manufacturers and service providers find value in the association’s array of products and services. The companies, which include several large multinationals, were approved by SOCMA’s Board of Governors at its April 12 meeting in Washington, DC.

“We are pleased to welcome these companies to SOCMA, and we encourage them to take full advantage of our products and services, as well as the expertise of our Washington, DC, staff,” said Dr. Larry Brotherton, chairman of SOCMA’s Board of Governors and president of Ortec Inc. “As we celebrate our 90th anniversary, I am confident that the growing diversity of our membership base will make us a stronger organization in the years to come.”

“We joined SOCMA to gain access to the diverse resources and services they provide, which will help us further grow our business and better serve our customers,” said Dave Enzerra, director of social responsibility and public affairs for The Lubrizol Corp.

SOCMA’s new members include:

Antea Group, St. Paul, MN – an international engineering and environmental consulting firm specializing in full-service solutions in the fields of environment, infrastructure, urban planning, and water. With more than 3000 employees in more than 100 offices around the world, Antea serves clients ranging from global energy companies and manufacturers to national governments and local municipalities.

Digital Specialty Chemicals, Toronto, Canada – a fine chemical manufacturer, specializing in organophosphorus and organometallic chemistry. Driven by technology and an entrepreneurial culture, DSC is a private company supplying both custom and stock chemicals to pharmaceutical, specialty chemical, and semiconductor markets worldwide.

EcoMundo SAS, Paris, France – a consulting firm dedicated to compliance with chemical regulations. EcoMundo’s primary focus is the preparation of technical dossiers under REACh. Other services include traceability of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) in the supply chain, safety data sheets and Classification, Labeling and Packaging (CLP) of chemicals. EcoMundo, which also has an office in Brussels, Belgium, is the only representative for several exporters to the European Union.

Hisun Pharmaceuticals, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, China – a fully integrated pharmaceutical company offering Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient’s (API) and finished dosage pharmaceuticals globally. The company, which is headquartered in southern China, operates two manufacturing sites in Taizhou City and Fuyang. The international sales and marketing office, supporting the North and South American regions, is located in Princeton, NJ.

The Lubrizol Corp., Wickliffe, OH – a specialty chemical company that produces and supplies technologies to customers in the global transportation, industrial, and consumer markets. These technologies include lubricant additives for engine oils, other transportation-related fluids, and industrial lubricants, as well as fuel additives for gasoline and diesel fuel. Lubrizol also makes ingredients and additives for personal care products and pharmaceuticals, specialty materials, including plastics technology and performance coatings in the form of specialty resins and additives. 

Neuland Laboratories, Hyderabad, India – provides pharmaceutical contract research and manufacturing services to pharmaceutical and biotech companies globally, with a 26-year record of quality and regulatory excellence. Neuland supports projects at all lifecycle stages, from process design and development to manufacture of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) for clinical trials up through regulatory filings and commercial launch. Products include fence-mounted sensors for detection, buried cable covert security systems, and microwave sensors, to name a few.
