Relco Acquires Wet & Dry Technologies B.V.

Relco Unisystems Corp. has reached an agreement to purchase the assets of Wet & Dry Technologies B.V. of Drachten, The Netherlands.

“In order to achieve our expansion goals, Relco has been actively seeking a dryer and evaporation partner in Europe for sales, engineering, fabrication, installation, and commissioning assistance, as well as follow-up customer support,” explains Loren Corle, President of Relco.

Wet & Dry Technologies B.V. has served the dairy and food industries on the European continent and around the world for seven years with design, engineering, fabrication and installation of evaporation and drying systems and equipment. Joost Simmelink will continue to be the General Manager and Wiebe Bouma the Sales Manager for the new company, Relco Wet & Dry B.V., at the Drachten facilities effective immediately, and plans are to retain about 25 of the existing technical staff.

“We are pleased to be able to continue servicing our loyal customers and provide them the high-quality products and latest technologies we have in the past,” said Simmelink. “With the Relco ownership, the Keller Lactose Drying System and Keller Permeate Drying System will now also be available to companies in European and neighboring regions.”

Relco provides dairy, food, and pharmaceutical plants with customized food processing equipment, systems, and automation through design, engineering, fabrication, and installation. Applications for services are drying, heat treatment, evaporation, filtration, separation, culturing, fermentation, blending, mixing, and standardization. Manufacturing processing applications are for cheese, fluid milk, cultured dairy products, milk powders, whey products, lactose, soymilk and other soy products, yeasts, fruit juices and beverages, soups and sauces, and pharmaceutical ingredients.
