Powder & Bulk Solids Southeast Conference and Exhibition Joins South's Largest Manufacturing Event

Canon Communications co-located Automated Technology Expo South, SouthPack, Plant Engineering South, Design & Manufacturing South, and PLASTEC South events will be joined by the Powder & Bulk Solids (PBS) Southeast Exhibition and Conference when the 700-exhibitor event takes place March 11-12, at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

PBS Southeast targets the region’s food, beverage, chemical, and pharmaceutical process industries as well as a wide range of industry involved in dry particulate processing. The event is sponsored and supported by Powder/Bulk Solids magazine, the market’s leading publication. Canon will deploy an intensive attendee marketing campaign reaching some 40,000 prospective process attendees in the region through a multi-layered marketing program involving advertising, direct mailings, telemarketing e-mailings, and interactive Web sites.

In addition to connecting with dedicated PBS buyers from hundreds of the region’s major processing facilities, PBS Southeast exhibitors will experience the built-in bonus attendance of some 6000 manufacturing attendees already attending the co-located events. An estimated 15% of this audience is dedicated process manufacturing professionals.

“The show was re-introduced to our combined South show in Charlotte at the request of exhibitors who really felt they needed a continued presence in this region and recognize our events deliver value,” noted Joshua Dome, director of sales at Canon Communications. “PBS Southeast is ideally situated in the center of the highest concentration of process industry in the South.

“The value proposition applies to both the attendee as well as the exhibitor. The process engineer who considers attending Canon’s co-located event is given the opportunity to see hundreds of suppliers providing the full spectrum of processing equipment, automation and controls, packaging equipment and materials, all the way through to testing and inspection equipment/services, plant engineering/safety, and contract services, thus maximizing the attendees’ investment of their time. Exhibitors gain the benefit of bonus attendees on top of dedicated process/powder attendees.”

In terms of demographics, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Eastern Tennessee have more than twice the readership of key industry publications (Powder/Bulk Solids, Processing magazine, Food Engineering, Food Processing, Chemical Processing, Chemical Engineering, and Process Heating) than Georgia or any other state in the Southeast.

North Carolina alone exceeds Georgia with a 5% larger powder/process market as measured by number of readers of the main publications serving the South’s process industries. Add to that the conveniently located portions of Northwestern South Carolina and Eastern Tennessee, the Charlotte and surrounding region is significantly larger than the Atlanta region.

Canon Communications LLC is the producer of the bi-annual international industry event, International Powder & Bulk Solids (a.k.a. Process Technology Expo International or PTXi), taking place next in May 2010 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont (Chicago), and PTX/PBS West, taking place April 21-22, 2009 at the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, California. PTX/PBS West is the 2009 industry event for the Western U.S., Canada, and Central and South America.

The major-national event for the powder/process markets in 2009 is the California event which is being produced in like manner and on similar scale as the International event held in Chicago on the even years. This includes a full comprehensive conference program and attendance promotion that reaches process/powder attendees from the entire U.S., Western U.S., South America, and the Pacific Rim. This event delivers a new group of prospective customers from regions rich with opportunities and until now has not been served by a full-scale conference and exhibition.
