Powder and Bulk Mixing Course Offered

The University of Wisconsin Madison is offering Powder and Bulk Mixing: Processes, Applications and Equipment, a practical course on powder mixing processes and equipment, November 14-15, at the Hilton Garden Inn Philadelphia Center City, Philadelphia.

Attendees will learn how to successfully apply and evaluate powder mixing equipment for blending and agglomeration processes. The course will examine practical ideas and solutions, focus on real issues, explore powder processing opportunities, and develop practical solutions.

David S. Dickey, Ph.D. will instruct the course. Dickey has been an independent consultant with MixTech Inc., Dayton, Ohio, since 1998. During his more than 23 years with process equipment manufacturers, he has spent five years working with a manufacturer of powder and dry solids mixing equipment. He has a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering from Purdue University. He has written and/or co-authored more than 30 publications on the practical and technical aspects of scale-up, engineering, equipment, and design.
