NOVA Chemicals Announces Business Leadership Appointments

NOVA Chemicals announced that Chris Bezaire has been promoted to the new role of senior vice president, polyethylene. In related moves, John Hotz has been appointed to the role of vice president, corporate strategy, and John Siegrist has been named vice president, sales.

“These announcements support NOVA Chemicals’ market focus strategy and our commitment to pursue sustainable leadership in the markets we serve,” said Randy Woelfel, chief executive officer.

Bezaire will be responsible for the financial performance of NOVA Chemicals’ polyethylene business. He will develop a market-focused workforce that is firmly integrated with all functions that support NOVA’s customers. Bezaire has broad experience in sales, marketing, manufacturing, and corporate leadership, and joined NOVA Chemicals in 1994 after working for DuPont Canada’s SCLAIR polyethylene business.

In his new position, Hotz will oversee NOVA Chemicals’ corporate development strategy, including initiatives in the company’s olefins and polyethylene businesses. He will work closely with the company’s executive team to shape the future of NOVA Chemicals under the ownership of International Petrochemical Investment Co. (IPIC). Hotz joined NOVA Chemicals in 2000, after a lengthy career with Equistar Chemical and related companies.

Siegrist will continue to be responsible for NOVA Chemicals’ North American polyethylene sales, and will also oversee export sales and the customer service function. Siegrist joined NOVA Chemicals in 1989 after working for the Quantum USI Division.
