102179.tifRotary Style Drawer-in-Housing Magnet
This rotary style drawer-in-housing magnet was designed to remove ferrous metal from powder and bulk processed products that have difficult flow characteristics and a tendency to bridge and choke when using traditional, stationary tube-style magnetic separators. The magnet is ideal for products that have a higher moisture content or particle size, such as flours, cake mixes, or corn starch, and require a high degree of product purity. The RotoDrawer magnet features a cylindrical configuration of Rare Earth magnetic tubes that continually rotate through a gravity-fed product stream. The rotational design of the magnet, as well as unique splitter bars that serve to further break up any clumps, keep the flow moving through the housing while capturing any ferrous metal contamination and purifying the product. The unit is available in EZ-Clean or Self-Clean designs to simplify the removal of collected metal and prevent any metal wash-off back into the product stream. Standard sizes range from 8x8 in.- to 18x18-in.-inlets and outlets, with custom designs and sizes available to fit exact application requirements. Industrial Magnetics Inc., Boyne City, MI 800-662-4638 www.magnetics.com

Vertical Fall Metal Detector
The Compact Vertical Fall metal detector is 25 percent smaller than the standard systems previously available. The MET30+ Vertical Fall provides manufacturers with high levels of protection for incoming bulk raw materials in both granular and fine powder form – even in severely restricted spaces. By incorporating a quick-release reject system, the amount of downtime and products rejected are reduced, while the quality of the material remains protected. Lock previously supplied two types of Vertical Fall systems with differing rejects: a shorter, unsealed unit for granular applications and a sealed model for fine dusts and powders. In designing the Compact Vertical Fall, the objective was to create a machine that could detect metal in both types of raw material, combining a fast-acting, sealed reject mechanism with compact dimensions. The short height of the pneumatic reject system on the unit provides fast acting removal of contaminated products, which increases efficiency and throughput rate. Lock Inspection Systems, Fitchburg, MA 800-227-5539  www.lockinspection.com

102181.tifHigh Sensitivity Metal Detectors
Extremely sensitive E-Z Tec DSP metal detectors detect ferrous, nonferrous, and stainless steel contaminants. This state-of-the-art metal detector, which features advanced digital signal processing, is ideal for customers in the food, textile, pharmaceutical, rubber, chemical, and many other industries. It utilizes a standard three-coil aperture arrangement to send a signal to the unit’s control for digital processing. The touch-screen (1/4 VGA) interface allows users to view multiple line items at a glance, making setup, monitoring, and operation straightforward and simple. All numeric data and value entries are made through on-screen calculator type interfaces, eliminating the need to scroll through long lists. For improved function and simplified diagnostics, the electronics have been consolidated and multiple detectors can be monitored and controlled from a single PC, providing plant-wide access to data and reports. Remote diagnostics, as well as company-wide control and monitoring, is easily added by installing Eriez’ free E-Z Link software. Eriez, Erie, PA 888-300-3743 www.eriez.com

High-Frequency Metal Detector
The Quicktron 05 RH is a high-frequency metal separator for the examination of free-flowing bulk materials in free fall. It provides fully automatic detection and rejection of metallic contaminants from the product stream without process interruption. The unit is designed to handle bulk materials in free fall. Features include: open framework with round reject mechanism without critical edges avoids dust and dirt settlement; product contacting parts are made from food grade materials such as stainless steel, PP, silicone, and Teflon; suitable for all applications and throughputs. Round apertures are available from 2-12 in diam. Other diameters are available as required.  Bunting Magnetics Co., Newton,  KS 800-835-2526 www.buntingmagnetics.com

102183.tifLarge Bag Metal Detector
Known as the “Big Bag King”, this detector can be integrated with a vector conveyor to create an all-in-one detection solution. The Phantom large bag metal detector achieves supreme performance with large product sizes, with a specification of 2.0 mm-316 stainless steel detection in 50-100-lb bags of dry product. Additionally, the system detects ferrous and non-ferrous metal as small as 1.5 mm. It also includes a noise reduction modification that reduces the unit’s susceptibility to RF interference. Applications include flour, grain, spices, powders, food, and additives. Fortress Technology Inc., Toronto, ON, Canada 888-220-8737  www.fortresstechnology.com

Four-Quadrant  Metal Detectors
Integrated Four-Quadrant technology allows users to readily adjust settings to detect metals in even the most difficult products such as cheese or high salt content foods. To ensure maximum performance, users are taken through a series of easy-to-follow, step-by-step, high-graphic screens to set standards for product testing. By finding even the smallest particles of ferrous, nonferrous, and stainless steel contaminants, these detectors assist food processors to meet HAACP, IFS, BRC, and GMP safety standards. Able to meet the needs of a variety of applications in harsh production environments, equipment models can be installed on conveyor lines or onto gravity feed pipes.  Magnetic Products Inc., Highland, MI 800-544-5930 www.mpimagnet.com

102185.tifManual Clean Drawer Magnet
Engineered to remove medium and fine ferrous contaminants from dry, free-flowing products under gravity flow, this drawer magnet protects processing machinery and improves product purity. Multiple staggered rows provide maximum contact area for product flow. As product flows through the stainless steel housing, it cascades over the staggered rows of magnetic tubes. Ferrous contaminants are pulled to the surface of the magnet where they move to the underside of the tube to prevent wash-off. EZ Clean and POW-R Clean options are also available for simplified cleaning. Additionally, complete engineering and product testing is offered to assist in magnetic equipment installation decisions. Puritan Magnetics, Oxford, MI 800-787-3624  www.puritanmagnetics.com
