Lorenz & Son Breaks Ground on New Facility

Cobourg, Ontario-based Lorenz & Son has announced that it has broken ground for its new 10,000-sq-ft building.

The new building, which will be situated adjacent to the company's existing facilities, will increase Lorenz's total manufacturing space to 60,000 sq ft.

"It's an important step because we need extra capacity as our business has grown and we don't have enough room," explained company president Peter Lorenz. “The new facility will manufacture diverter valves and slide gates for conveying systems.”

Lorenz & Son received town council approval for the project in June 2007 and expects the new building to be complete in late October or early November. The company also noted that the construction would not have an impact on Lorenz & Son's existing production.

"The new facility will enable us to serve the industry better and to keep our two-week delivery schedule on time," said Lorenz.
