Jenike & Johanson to Present Powder and Bulk Solids Handling Courses at Upcoming Chem Show

Jenike & Johanson engineers will be presenting a few of their most popular powder and bulk solids handling courses at the upcoming 2009 Chem Show in New York City on November 17-19 (http://chemshow.com/forvisitors/education.php).  Sessions will include: discussion of common solids flow problems; testing of powder flow properties and their relation to silo and hopper design; feeder design; powder blending; sampling and segregation; eliminating particle caking and attrition. Troubleshooting of poorly operating pneumatic conveying systems will also be covered.

Proper training of personnel involved in solids handling and processing is essential to operating an efficient and reliable bulk solids handling system. Since the theory of bulk solids handling is seldom a part of formal engineering training, many in industry lack an understanding of why solids handling problems occur and what practical steps can be taken to diagnose, alleviate, or prevent them.
