Level Sensor
The Model VHS vibrating element solids level sensor is a level control sensor using piezoelectric technology to create its harmonic vibration in the absence of material. When material is present at its single element probe the vibration is dampened and the sensor relay output changes state to indicate material presence. The sensor is ideal for detecting lightweight materials, for bins with changing materials, and where re-calibration is to be eliminated. The sensor’s standard rod probe design works with process temperatures as high as 230°F, and the optional high temperature design works with process material temperatures up to 320°F. In addition, a universal AC/DC power supply, relay output that is fail-safe, and the rugged enclosure with local LED indication of material alarm condition. Material densities as low as 3.12 lb/cu ft) can be detected. BlueLevel Technologies Inc.,  Rock Falls, IL 888-615-3835 www.blueleveltechnologies.com

Moisture Meter
Moisture content at various stages throughout the production process impacts energy costs, efficiency of the process, and yield. Final moisture affects storage, flow, and solubility properties. The MCT 360 moisture meter can be installed looking through a window into a fluid bed dryer or at a transparent section of pipe after exiting the dryer. Alternatively, the moisture meter can be configured with a powder sampler for measurement within a pneumatic pipe. As a result, the moisture content can be controlled and fuel costs can be reduced. Capacitance Level Sensor
The TrueCap Model MK-2 RF capacitance point level sensor is designed to provide a superior and stable sensitivity threshold making it suitable for a variety of powder and bulk solids applications. Advanced features of the sensor include automatic immunity to material build-up on the probe by its driven shield design and maximized reliability via smart sensing algorithms like “self-validating” fail-safe protection. The level sensor can be combined with the optional remote calibration module, which allows a person to interface with the MK-2 from up to 1000 ft away from the sensor using an RS-485 connection. The module can be placed near other control equipment. This is ideal if the materials change often and the material characteristics are so diverse that re-calibration is required. It is also useful if the procedures require probe functionality verification on a regular basis. Monitor Technologies LLC, Elburn, IL 800-601-6302 www.monitortech.com

Inventory Management Control Console
The Model C-100MB is a compact control console that allows control of a SmartBob sensor network via a Modbus interface, simplifying bin inventory management for organizations that utilize the Modbus communication protocol routinely in their operations. SmartBob2 and SmartBob-TS1 sensors are utilized to take automated measurements using cable-based technology and the C-100MB console then provides an interface for the Modbus master to initiate measurements, monitor measurement progress, and retrieve data for any or all SmartBob sensors enabled in the C-100MB console. Remotely accessed via a Modbus interface, the C-100MB console makes it easy to control from one up to 120 SmartBob sensors with a few keystrokes or automatically through use of an interval timer or external start input signal. Flow Tester Software
The Powder Flow Pro V1.1 is an updated version of the company’s automated software used to control its Powder Flow Tester. Significant changes include a modified test method designed to achieve “critical consolidation” of the powder sample contained in the shear cell. Updated data graphics and improved test formats are also provided. The software is available via download free of charge to customers who have purchased the tester. With this new critical consolidation procedure, the shear cell trough turns in repeated short rotations while a constant consolidation stress is applied by the vane lid. This causes the powder material to settle into place, removing air pockets and achieving a “low-energy” state. With the powder packed as tight as possible, the instrument can then determine the powder’s failure strength by shearing the material in the lid against the material in the trough. The software also features improved graphing capabilities, allowing for additional ways to use and manipulate data. Brookfield Engineering, Middleboro, MA 800-628-8139 www.brookfieldengineering.com
