FKI Logistex Opens Technology & Education Center

FKI Logistex, a global leader in integrated material handling solutions, has announced the grand opening of its multimillion-dollar Technology & Education Center (TEC) in Cincinnati.

The 31,000-sq-ft training and demonstration center offers customers access to fully functional, automated sortation, conveying, AS/RS, and order fulfillment systems for solutions demonstrations, proof-of-concept testing, and operator training.

Visitors can test their own products and containers on the FKI Logistex equipment and preview material handling solutions developed. The TEC enables companies to jump-start training for new installations and learn best practices for operation and maintenance of existing systems.

Visitors to the TEC receive guided tours through the facility that features a mini-load automated storage and retrieval crane, a high-speed wedge merge feeding a UniSort XV high-speed sliding shoe sortation system, motorized roller conveyor, tilt-tray and cross-belt sortation systems, and warehouse control systems. The TEC also features demonstrations of the company's latest sortation innovations, picking technologies, and controls and software solutions, and is scalable to incorporate a broader range of FKI Logistex solutions in the future. Visitors are also given tours of the adjacent manufacturing facility.
