Eriez Announces Expansions in U.S., Canada, China, India

Eriez, a leader in advanced technology for magnetic, vibratory, and inspection applications, announced that it will expand its operations in the U.S., Canada, China, and India to address the growing global demand for its products.

"We are proud and excited to report that Eriez is not only growing at home, but also across the globe," said Tim Shuttleworth, Eriez president and CEO.

In the U.S., Eriez has purchased a 114,000-sq-ft building that is approximately 15 miles from its world headquarters facility in Erie, PA. The new building, located at 1901 Wager Road in Erie, will house the company’s 5-Star Service center and handle manufacturing of Eriez’ largest selling equipment including recycling systems, column flotation cells, and Hydroflow fluid filtration and recycling equipment.

Eriez completed the purchase of the Wager Rd. building in late June. According to Shuttleworth, Eriez plans to finish some renovations to the space and move operations in by the end of 2011.

Eriez Minerals Flotation Group (EMFG), headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, will be moving from its current location to a larger building nearby. "This brand new building is being custom built to suit EMFG’s needs," said Mike Mankosa, Eriez’ vice president—operations. "Our new facility will allow us to build our larger proprietary equipment in-house, rather than utilizing sub-contractors." EMFG equipment offerings include flotation columns for minerals and liquids, StackCell high efficiency mechanical flotation cells, Hydrofloat coarse particle flotation cells, gas injection systems, and mineral processing test equipment.

Construction of the new building in Vancouver is currently underway. "We hope to move into the space by early 2012," said Mankosa.

Eriez-China will add another manufacturing operation in Tianjin to supplement its current Qinhuangdao plant. "Our new facility in Tianjin gives us an additional 10,905 sq m, including 1650 sq m of office accommodation," says Andy Lewis, vice president—international.

"Our new building in Tianjin will be ideal for building our Hydroflow fluid filtration equipment, suspended magnets, recycling products as well as some of our other large pieces of equipment," said Lewis. "Our target move-in date is August 2011."

Eriez-India is moving to a new factory facility located on Vanagaram-Ambattur Rd., near Ambattur industrial estate in Chennai, which is one of the largest industrial estates in Asia. "This facility has two factory buildings measuring 25,600 sq ft with an array of sophisticated cranes as well as welding and rolling machines and more," said Lewis.

The new space will enable Eriez-India to manufacture Eriez products to the highest quality standards, while offering faster delivery.
