Rotary Calciners
Custom-designed to meet your processing requirements, Bartlett-Snow rotary calciners continuously process granular materials and powders at high temperatures, exceeding 1500ºC, in oxidizing, inert, or reducing atmospheres. The design consists principally of an inclined rotating cylinder that is enclosed in a furnace along its active length, featuring gas, oil, dual-fuel burners, or electric heating elements. Available in sizes from 6 to 120 in. in diameter, these units can be equipped with gas-tight seals that prevent interchange between the internal atmosphere and local ambient conditions. Special internal flight design promotes gentle tumbling action and provides for uniform exposure and efficient heat transfer. The benefits when compared to conventional tunnel kiln or mesh belt-style equipment include maximum product uniformity, reduced processing time, reduced operating costs, and lower capital costs. Air Dryer
The Hybritec compressed air drying solution combines the energy savings of a refrigerated dryer with the low dew points of a desiccant dryer. Hybritec units operate on a ground-breaking premise. Air is first treated by a refrigerated dryer to remove the majority of the air’s water vapor. Then the air is treated by a desiccant dryer to further reduce the dewpoint. Finally, the air is returned to the refrigerated dryer to be reheated and delivered to the air system. The advantages of these hybrid dryers over other types include: a consistent outlet dew point; reduced operating and maintenance costs; less power consumption; and longer desiccant service life. Plus, with flows from 706 to 5295 scfm, Hybritec dryers produce both refrigerated dew points of +38° and desiccant dew points of -40°F. Particulate Monitors for Dryers
This particulate monitor is designed for chemical spray dryers and pharmaceutical powder fluid bed dryers. Moisture present in a drying process will not affect operation nor will the buildup of wet powders. The company’s proprietary combination of induction technology and a protected-probe also provides low level measurement capabilities (0.01 mg/cu m), which is important in the pharmaceutical industry to prevent the loss of valuable powders from filtration systems. Outputs include 4-20mA, Modbus, and Ethernet. FilterSense, Beverly, MA 978-927-4304 www.filtersense.com

lling Bed Dryer
In the rolling bed dryer the non-uniform bulk material is steadily and homogeneously mixed and stays in the dryer for long retention times in spite of the compact design of the dryer. Even very irregular shredded organic waste or unwieldy bulk materials can be conveyed by the dryer. The dryer can produce new and alternative fuels from the preparation and drying of organic wastes such as wood chips and green waste – sometimes mixed with fruits or wine residues, sugar beet pulp, or even horse manure, all in a safe, environmentally friendly and economical manner. Cabinet Oven
No. 800 is an electrically-heated, 850ºF cabinet oven that is currently used for drying specialty plastic powders. Workspace of this cabinet oven measures 38 x 26 x 38 in. Twenty KW are installed in Incoloy-sheathed tubular heating elements, while an 800-CFM, 3/4-HP recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow to the workload. This walk-in oven features 6-in. insulated walls, Type 304, 2B finish stainless steel interior with continuously welded seams, a disposable fresh air filter, a stainless steel loading truck, and a transfer dolly, including an oven-to-dolly latch and dolly-to-truck latch. In addition, this oven has all safety equipment onboard to handle flammable solvents, including a minihelic pressure gauge to indicate internal oven pressure. Drying System
Solidaire dryers can efficiently and reliably handle many challenging materials, from free-flowing solids and pellets to wet cakes and slurries. They can be used with materials that are heat sensitive, materials whose properties change during conveyance, and with low-density fine particles that tend to fluidize. The dryer features a jacketed cylinder, high-speed rotor, and adjustable paddles. Gas or liquid can be injected through the paddles at the optimal point to improve process and product quality. Superior gas contact can eliminate the need for vacuum. Material residence times can range from 2 to 30 min. The dryer has three operating modes: indirect, direct, and a combination of the two. Screener/Fluid-Bed-Dryer System
This self-contained screener/fluid-bed-dryer system removes oversize and undersize material, and dries on-size material at rates to 3000 lb/hr. The upper deck of a 30-in.-diam circular vibratory screener removes oversize particles while the lower deck dedusts the material. On-size material falling onto the lower screen travels in controlled spiral pathways to an extended spout at the screen’s periphery leading to a 40-in.-diam circular vibratory fluid bed dryer. Roughly half the size and weight of comparable rectangular configurations, the circular design is inherently rigid, eliminating the need for heavy-gauge walls and cross braces, allowing vibratory motors to be downsized, and permitting consolidation of all primary system components on a single frame. The circular unit also requires only one air inlet and outlet and has fewer weld seams, reducing size and cost, especially when finished to 3-A, FDA, BISSC, and other sanitary standards. Mixer/Dryer/Cooler
The Bella Series 543 mixer/dryer/cooler offers a new method for drying or cooling powders, granulates, and filter cakes. The Bella dryer can be used for drying, mixing, spraying, agglomerating, and cooling in the same unit without additional equipment or costs. Operation is extremely efficient because air flows around material while it is suspended in the weightless zone of the mixer. This maximizes the total surface that is exposed to the air, increasing the desired effect. The drying process will go through an adiabatic evaporation with thermal efficiency at about 80 percent. Only small air volumes are required compared with other fluidizing dryers. Benefits include: better air distribution, which increases drying/cooling efficiency; homogeneous mixing during the drying/cooling process; low air volume reduces filter requirements, rotating paddles prevent material lumping and air channels; increased air contact creates better thermal efficiency; random material/air movement reduces drying/cooling time; gentle paddle motion creates low shear and low energy usage due to high thermal efficiency. dification Systems
These liquid and dry desiccant dehumidification systems deliver precise, energy-efficient temperature and humidity control for conveying and storing dry bulk products. Common applications include silos as well as unloading and conveying systems. In addition to providing consistent temperature and humidity control, the systems: eliminate mold growth; neutralize airborne microorganisms for bacteria-free air; improve product quality and extend shelf life; lower production costs for heat-sensitive drying; maximize production rates to eliminate downtime; prevent product sticking and lumping; help avoid blockages in conveying lines; stop product from sticking to silo walls.
