Crescent Technology and Sae Kwang Chemical Join TSI

The Sulphur Institute (TSI) has announced that Crescent Technology Inc. and Sae Kwang Chemical Ind. Co., Ltd are now members of the industry association dedicated to benefiting all stakeholders in the sulfur industry.

Catherine Randazzo, TSI president and CEO, referenced the continuing diversity within TSI’s membership, both in geography and aspects of the business. “TSI continues to demonstrate value to a growing number of companies globally. We remain committed to the entire industry, but have recently been expanding benefits exclusive to TSI membership, such as historical data, our popular weekly newsletter, all archived within the Members Only section of our Web site, www.sulfurinstitute.org, along with numerous other items of interest. TSI also organizes workshops and onsite visits to industry operations of interest. All stand to benefit our members in making sound business decisions.”

Crescent Technology Inc., www.cticonsult.com, provides consulting services in engineering, environmental management, safety, and laboratory analyses to an international client base, including the sulfur industry. Based in New Orleans, Crescent also has extensive development capabilities at its Belle Chasse Technical Center.

“We have worked for numerous major companies worldwide with sulfur having both historical and current-day significance to Crescent,” said Roy A. Pickren, Crescent’s president. “We recognize the valuable contribution that TSI makes to the industry and welcome the opportunity to support and take an active role in its equally far-reaching programs.”

Sae Kwang Chemical Ind. Co., Ltd, from its Seoul, South Korea headquarters, sells molten sulfur and sulfur powder, sourced from three major oil refineries, and produces a wide range of sulfur products. Sae Kwang supplies its products to a series of end-users to include fertilizers, lactam, detergents, tires, rubber, and agricultural chemicals.

Yoon Chul Yoo, Sae Kwang’s CEO, highlighted his company’s reasoning in joining TSI, “Our company has been active in supplying various industries requiring sulfur for over 20 years now. As we grow our business into new uses of sulfur, such as our plans for sulfur bentonite, TSI’s broad experience in market development for numerous areas of interest to our company will be a major asset.”

Founded in 1960, TSI is committed to representing all stakeholders actively engaged in producing, buying, selling, handling, transporting, or adding value to sulfur on a global basis. For more information, visit www.sulphurinstitute.org.
