Chem Show

More than 7000 chemical process industry (CPI) professionals from around the world will attend the 2007 Chem Show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City October 30 through November 1 to see the latest products and technologies on display from more than 600 leading suppliers.

Featuring hundreds of new and innovative products, specially focused pavilions, and a comprehensive conference program, the 52nd edition of America’s leading CPI event will provide attendees with valuable solutions to the challenges they face. Ranging from the latest advancements in nanotechnology to basic plant maintenance products and topics, the event will address CPI engineers’, designers’, and facilities professionals’ production and project concerns, including energy use, environmental issues, instrumentation and controls, automation, and safety.

With a special focus on powder-related products from 35 companies, the Powder Processing Showcase will feature filtration equipment, mixers, controls, particle size analyzers, heat exchangers, explosion protection equipment, scales and checkweighers, dryers, material-handling equipment, control software, sieving and screening equipment, powder transfer systems, pumps, valves, and mills.

Booth 635 – The inherent rigidity of this circular vibratory fluid bed dryer is greater than that of traditional rectangular fluid bed processors, allowing construction materials to be down-gauged and vibratory motors to be downsized. The dryer’s lighter weight and smaller size than comparable units increase efficiency at equivalent capacities. Reduced material, weld seams, and labor decrease fabrication costs and cut cleaning time in half. Used for batch or continuous operation on a laboratory or production scale, the unit is preengineered on caster-mounted frames with a blower, heater, and controller in diameters from 18 to 84 in. It can be finished to meet industrial, FDA, USDA, BISSC, 3A, and other standards.

pbs0710p25c.jpgSegregation Tester Sampling Valve
Booth 518 – The Sample Slicing Valve (SSV) is a discharge option that can be added onto a standard sifting segregation tester (ASTM D 6940-04) in place of the normal valve in either new or retrofit applications. The new valve provides a volume sample per sequence of approximately 1.8 cm3, while the normal valve provides a volume sample per sequence of approximately 55.3 cm3. This allows for much smaller unit-dose sample recovery without sample division (splitting), which takes extra effort and, if done improperly, can lead to nonrepresentative subsamples.

Booth 502 – The Turbo-Dryer is a continuous rotary tray dryer that is used to dry water-wet or solvent-wet materials through a wide temperature range without the need for vacuum. The benefits of this dryer include gentle handling for fragile materials, automatic operation, easy cleanout, and low horsepower and heat requirements.

pbs0710p25d.jpgExplosion Protection Suppressor
Booth 618 - The PistonFire suppressor is a dry chemical suppressor that is designed to meet the new stringent requirements of NFPA 69 (Standard on Explosion Prevention Systems). It is equipped with a supervisory OSHA lockout feature that allows safe entry into protected vessels and prevents arming of the suppression system if a suppressor is locked out. The suppressor is also equipped with a pressure switch that continuously monitors suppressor pressure and alerts operators if the pressure is out of range. The unit utilizes a nonexplosive actuating device that eliminates the need for explosive storage.
