Auction for Former National Starch Facility set for May 20

The former National Starch & Chemical Co. plant in Island Falls, ME will be sold at auction on Thursday, May 20, 2010 by Harry Davis & Co. Auctioneers. The sale will include food-grade processing equipment and real estate of the facility.

Equipment highlights include vacuum filters, ribbon blenders, sifters, hammer mills, a 2000-lb/hr rotary dryer, dust collectors, and additional processing equipment. Other equipment includes 15 stainless steel tanks, boilers, switch gear, material handling items, and many general plant fixtures.

The 64,000-sq-ft plant located on 10 acres will also be offered at auction. The live, on-site auction will be made available simultaneously on the Internet through the auctioneer’s Web site to bidders from around the world.
