Snyder Industries Acquired by Olympus Partners

Snyder Industries, a North American leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of proprietary material handling tank and container products, was acquired by Olympus Partners and the executive management team. Olympus Partners is a private equity firm, based in Stamford, Connecticut, which is focused on middle market management buyouts and later stage venture capital deals.

Headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska, Snyder Industries is listed as the fifth largest rotational molder in North America, according to a 2007 Plastic News company listings for plastic processors. The company specializes in large proprietary tank and container products utilized in the storage, transportation, and processing of bulk solid and liquid materials.

Snyder’s array of products include bulk storage tanks for agricultural and industrial chemicals, IBCs used to transport bulk liquids and dry materials,  as well as septic tanks and water cisterns utilized for the onsite management of waste and water.

In 2006, Snyder further diversified its business through the acquisition of Clawson Container Co., which expanded the company’s manufacturing capabilities to include stainless and carbon steel container products to compliment its plastic product offering. Snyder’s future plans include additional manufacturing diversification to expand the company’s product offering to existing customers as well as broaden the range of end markets they can serve with all products.

Snyder Industries’ executive management team, including President Tom O’Connell, will continue to lead the company’s future direction. “Our partnership with Olympus is a significant step in Snyder Industries’ evolution from a single process manufacturer with limited market growth potential to a multi-process and material supplier for a growing number of end markets,”  Said O’Connell. “Olympus Partners is uniquely positioned to provide the financial resources necessary to help our management team achieve the company’s long term vision.”
