The Mitchells Group, a bulk material conveying equipment provider, has acquired Allied Grain Systems, one of Australia's largest grain storage equipment companies.

With the acquisition, Mitchells Group will have the capability to engineer, manufacture, install, and support grain handling and storage silos, servicing agricultural markets globally, with more than 300 employees and manufacturing facilities in Lincolnshire, Nanjing (China) and Young, New South Wales (Australia), alongside installations in 60 countries across six continents.

Allied Grain Systems designs and installs high-quality grain handling and storage facilities.

“This acquisition represents a significant step forward in our growth strategy, allowing us to offer a more complete suite of products and services to our customers globally. Allied Grain Systems has a stellar reputation for quality and innovation, and we are excited to leverage their expertise to better serve the agricultural sector,” said Mic Mittasch, CEO, Mitchells.

The combination of Mitchell’s bulk material conveying equipment and Allied Grain Systems’ specialized grain handling and storage solutions is expected to drive operational efficiencies, improve customer service, and foster innovation in product development.

The transaction is expected to enable Mitchells to further strengthen its position in the key Australasian agricultural storage and handling market. It follows the group's acquisition in 2019 of Lincolnshire-based bulk material handling specialist Guttridge, which served to expand its operations into the UK, Europe, and The Middle East and North Africa regions.
