Laidig Announces Facility Expansion

Laidig Systems Inc. of Mishawaka, IN, announced a major expansion of its engineering and manufacturing facilities to meet the increased sales demand resulting from new designs and technological advances to its bulk storage and reclaim systems.

A pioneer of the development of automated storage and reclaim, Laidig provides dry-bulk silo reclaimers around the world. The company designs, markets, manufactures, and services a wide range of storage and reclaim systems and provides customized solutions for materials with special handling requirements, particularly those that require rugged, extreme-duty reclaimers. Research and testing has resulted in the development of systems that are well-suited for the storage and reclaim of grain meals, wood products, powders, bio-mass, and other hard-to-handle bulk solids.

The expansion of Laidig’s facilities will provide an additional 9000 sq ft of office for engineering and service, as well as an additional 40,000 sq ft of manufacturing space. The manufacturing space will include two state-of-the-art powder-coat paint-lines. One line will provide continuous, semi-automated powder coating of steel components as large as 7 ft wide x 9 ft high x 15 ft long, weighing up to 4800 lb. The second line will provide manual, batch powder coating of extremely large components, such as reclaim augers, up to 80 ft in length. This will allow the company to manufacture and powder-coat single-section reclaim augers for silos or domes as large as 160 ft in diameter.
