The Sturtevant FCM is a classifying impact mill capable of narrow particle size distribution from 95% below 250 micron (95% passes through 60 mesh) to 90% below 10 micron (90% passes through 1250 mesh). It is a workhorse in particle size reduction applications due to its combination of impact milling and air classification technologies in a single unit. The FCM mill’s flexibility of operation allows it to easily process a multitude of product categories requiring efficient and economical particle size reduction for a variety of applications, including pharmaceutical and food products such as excipients, lactose, caseins, sugar, starches, cocoa, wheat gluten, and other food and nutritional additives and colorings. It is also advantageous for processors of minerals, silica, alumina, pigments, powder coatings, and chemical products as activated carbon and sodium bicarbonate.
