YSTRAL Conti-TDS Machine Achieves 3-A Sanitary Standard Certification

The YSTRAL Conti-TDS, known for the efficiencies it brings to the production process by offering powder induction, wetting, and then dispersing of an agglomerate-free liquid, has been certified by 3-A Sanitary Standards Inc. (3-A SSI) to meet its sanitary standards and carry the 3-A symbol.

Powder Technologies Inc. (PTI), the exclusive distributor of YSTRAL powder and liquid processing systems throughout North America, offers the Conti-TDS as one of its solutions for processing applications in the pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic, and chemical industries.

The Conti-TDS machines, working on the rotor/stator principle, are in full compliance with the 3-A Sanitary Standard. All product contact surfaces of the machines meet the 3-A design criteria and can be easily inspected, cleaned, sanitized and maintained. The patented Conti-TDS system operates dust-free and loss-free and offers clean-in-place without disassembly.

According to 3-A SSI, equipment meeting the 3-A Sanitary Standards brings the modern cleaning and sanitizing methods, materials, and systems to manufacturing processes. As a result of this increased efficiency in equipment cleaning, processors can expect lower cleaning costs. Inspections also generally run more smoothly when equipment complies with 3-A Sanitary Standards.

“This is quite a significant achievement for this machine,” said Rick Isherwood, president of PTI. “We believe in its capability to improve manufacturing efficiencies, but with the 3-A stamp of approval we have independent validation of that fact.”

In addition to the YSTRAL Conti-TDS machine, the YSTRAL PiloTec machines have also successfully passed the 3-A certification process. The PiloTec offers similar capabilities to the Conti-TDS, but does so on a test or pilot run basis. The Conti-TDS and the Pilo-Tec, join YSTRAL’s Z-Inline dispersing machines to achieve 3-A SSI Sanitary Standard certification.
