Kerr Food & Agricultural Products Center, will present “Make Food Safe Again: Remove Foreign Metals” as part of Powder & Bulk Solids’ 2020 DryPro Webinar Series, taking place June 2-4, 2020.

The presentation will begin with a description of the consequences of foreign metals in products, followed by a brief history of metal detection and removal operations. Next, the important terms of foreign metal detection and removal systems will be defined. Theory and methods of metal detection and separation will be explained and discussed. Tips on installation and use of foreign metal detection and separation equipment will be provided. Finally, successful prevention of contamination with foreign metals is linked to plant operations and detection and separation schemes.
