David M. Sorter was recently appointed president of Sweco, A Business Unit of M-I LLC, headquartered in Florence, Kentucky. Sweco is a developer and key source of separation technology to pharmaceutical, petroleum, food, and other industries.  

“Our challenge ahead is to build upon the past successes of the company,” said Sorter, who will lead the industrial businesses of Sweco and United Wire, as well as the ES manufacturing operations. “Customer satisfaction will continue to be one of our key metrics. Sorter joined Sweco in June 1993 as manager manufacturing engineering and through his distinguished career has held various positions in manufacturing. His most recent position was that of director global manufacturing operations. His background includes a BBA from Eastern Kentucky University and an Associates of Mechanical Engineering from Cincinnati State. His career has been augmented by the learning and successful implementation of a wide variety of continuous improvement/lean systems.
