Classifier

The Alpha classifier was developed for the production of fine products from 150 down to 6 µm and is especially suited for dry powders—both mineral and chemical. Depending on the fineness required, this equipment can be fed by gravity from the top or in the main airstream from below, and can be customized with either stainless steel, ceramic, or polyurethane for wear protection and specific material requirements. The unit requires minimal maintenance and is available with various options to meet a wide variety of air classification needs.

Sieve Shaker

The Minor has been specially designed and manufactured as an economical sieve shaker with the benefits usually found only on larger, more expensive models. It is ideal for the laboratory or plant since it is compact and genuinely portable (weighing only 17 kg) and is fitted with antivibration feet to ensure good stability. With no mechanical moving parts, it is quiet in operation and maintenance-free. The sieve stack is held firmly in position between the location and clamp plates by an efficient, simple-to-use adjustable clamp system. It may be set for continuous sieving or timed operation using the 0-to-60-minute timer. The vibrating action imparts a precise movement to the sieve stack ensuring efficient sieving and repeatability. The Minor is CE marked and complies with EMC requirements.

Large Tube Housing

This product incorporates the purification standards of a rare earth magnetic circuit with the innovations of a drawer-housing design. The magnetic circuit found in pneumatic inline magnets, or bullet magnets, has been incorporated into a housing. It is ideal for gravity-fed applications where sticking, galling, and product bridging are prevalent, such as with spices, powders, flour, or pet food. The diverter design mimics product buildup and eliminates bridging and choking, while forcing the product to come in direct contact with the magnet. The unit’s circuit offers high collection of contaminated metal, without a negative effect on flow rates.

Manual-Clean Drawer Magnet

Engineered to remove medium and fine ferrous contaminants from dry, free-flowing products under gravity flow, this drawer magnet protects processing machinery and improves product purity. Multiple staggered rows provide maximum contact area for product flow. As product flows through the stainless-steel housing, it cascades over the staggered rows of magnetic tubes. Ferrous contaminants are pulled to the surface of the magnets where they move to the underside of the tube to prevent washoff.

Vibratory Screener

The Omni-Screener produces control and classifying results in bulk material processing applications. Material moves in a spiral flow from a central in-feed point, developing extended residence time for near-size particles. Units can have multiple deck surfaces for variable screening, and their square shape makes screen changes easy using simple tensioning procedures. A self-contained, motorized drive with variable vibration amplitude and adjustable angle of attack permits rapid adjustments. Low-headroom construction can be totally enclosed where required. Units are custom designed for each process and are available in carbon-steel, stainless-steel, or food-grade construction.

Centrifugal Sifter

The KEK cantilever-design centrifugal sifter provides excellent size reduction for a variety of applications including classification, deagglomeration, bulk conditioning, scalping, in-line sifting, policing raw material, de-watering, reclaiming damaged product, and de-dusting of reground product. The unit features a fully cantilevered shaft with no oversize end bearings or seal. This easy-clean and tool-free design allows for maximum output and uptime. Its oversize hinged door provides quick access to the sifting screen while offering high standards of hygiene and ease of operation.

Screener

The Apex screener comes standard with the same features found on the Rotex screener including gyratory-reciprocating motion, positive screen cleaning, bouncing balls to reduce blinding, and inlet/outlet connections. However, the Apex is enhanced with side-access doors to enable efficient screen cleaning and changes. Screens weigh less than 7 lb, which enables screen maintenance by a single person. Screens are available in sizes ranging from ½ in. to 325 mesh. Top-cover inspection ports allow for easy seal inspection from outside the machine.

Centrifugal Screener

The Centri-Sifter centrifugal screener features a hinged end cover and three-bearing shaft that cantilevers for quick removal of internal components. External roller bearings at the motor end of the shaft and on a hinged cover at the discharge end provide maximum support and vibration-free operation. With end cover hinged open, the shaft cantilevers on a third, externally mounted roller bearing between the motor-end bearing and material feed point, allowing internal components to slide from the opposite shaft end for washdown. In addition to 3-A, FDA, and BISSC applications, it satisfies industrial applications involving frequent screen changes, inspections, or runs of multiple materials.

Sintered Wire Mesh Laminates

This company offers a comprehensive selection of sintered (diffusion-bonded) multilayer, woven wire mesh laminates for filtration, separation, screening, fluidization, and fluid-bed drying. Poremet and Absolta are five-layer, surface-loading, rigid filter plates available in filter ratings of 2–100 µm in Type 316L stainless steel and Hastelloy C-22. Absolta offers the least possible pressure drop for its mechanical strength, while Poremet offers higher mechanical strength and more construction variation. These media are exact replacements in most nutsche filters and filter/dryers and work well as chromatography bed support plates. Poreflo is a fluidizing medium (aeration plate) in two- and three-layer construction and offered in a wide permeability range. Poreflo is ideal for handling any fluidizable bulk solid. Applications include air-gravity conveyors, aeration beds, fluidized bins, and hoppers. Type 316L stainless steel is standard with Hastelloy C-22 available on special request. All the above media are produced in 48 × 48–in. sheets with many specifications available from stock.

Free-Swinging Sifter

The HS sifter is designed for applications with large-screen-area requirements as well as multiple separations. It is a high-capacity machine made in 2, 4, 6, or 8 sections with sieve heights from 17 to 30 sieves, and provides highly accurate separations. Custom sizes can also be manufactured to suit a customer’s individual needs. The sifter is available with either the original rack-and-pinion sieve compression system or an innovative pneumatic sieve compression system for easy maintenance and to ensure uniform and constant sieve compression. Sanitary operation and easy cleanout is ensured through design with no ledges or unsealed gaps.

Rotary Drum Screen

This self-cleaning rotary drum screen separates solid debris from wastewater at high rates with low-energy usage. The unit contains a rotating cylinder constructed of wedge wire screen with a stationary doctor blade on the outside of the cylinder and an internal spray line. Effluent discharges from a head box, overflows a dam, and flows onto the outside of the rotating cylinder, allowing water to pass through the wedge wire into the cylinder. The doctor blade scrapes sludge and debris collected on the outside of the cylinder, while an internal spray line dislodges particles blinding the screen.

Classifiers

With the release of the ACS-100TD and the ACS-300TD, the ACS classifier is now manufactured in 10 sizes ranging from the laboratory machine that handles up to 50 lb/h, to the ACS-300TD, which is capable of feed rates in excess of 200 tn/h. The TD (twin discharge) series provides an increased fine-particle production rate versus optimized classifier size. The feed material can be introduced pneumatically, predispersed in an airstream, or mechanically fed into the classifier. The airstream can be recycled to the classifier in closed-circuit operation or filtered and discharged to the atmosphere in open-circuit operation. The cut point of the fine product can be precisely controlled by varying the rotational speed of the classifier blades.
