ROTEX Signs Screener Contract with Tenova Takraf of Italy

ROTEX Global LLC, a global leader in screening technologies, has announced that its European division has signed a contract with Tenova Takraf of Italy for two MEGATEX XD screeners. The two screeners are dedicated to the Tenova Takraf plant which will be the largest single train ammonia-urea complex in the world.

Tenova is a worldwide supplier of integrated solutions for complete process areas. The end user, a Pakistan fertilizer company, will benefit from the high-capacity of the MEGATEX XD, which operates at the rate of 157 tn/hr. These screeners are designed for the demanding screening requirements of high-volume applications.

The two high-capacity screeners will replace four to six ROTEX screeners, without compromising process efficiencies. The ability of the unit to screen at high capacities is achieved through a multi-deck design. The design offers a large screening area in a compact footprint, maximizing use of floor area in the plant.

Screens are easily accessed through two discharge doors on the end of the machine. The user-friendly configuration enables quick screen changes. The screener achieves separation efficiency through an elliptical-linear motion. Incoming urea is distributed equally to each screen deck level and then uniformly spread across each screen surface. The elongated stroke of the machine also provides effective blinding control allowing near-horizontal screen deck angles. This guarantees sharp separations since the screen cloth openings used can be very near to the actual specified mesh or micron opening.

Screen apertures for these machines, which will be delivered in 2009, are designed to remove waste product at 1mm. For more information, visit www.rotex.com.
