Screening transition provides separation of free-flowing materials from lumps or residual trash that could be retained in the product flow stream. High-volume, free-flow material passes through static screen while lumps are recycled back into the flow stream to a lump breaker, hammer mill, or other size reduction device for reprocessing. This design is well suited for products such as soy meal, cement powder, and fertilizers where the oversized product can be reground and presented back into the flow stream. Products such as foundry sand or grains often have product contaminates to be removed and are easily rejected. Transition construction is available in carbon steel, stainless steel, or abrasion-resistant steel.
