Elcan Industries Enhances Graphite Processing for Battery Materials with Elbow-Jet Air Classifier
Elcan’s elbow-jet lab scale air classifier achieved 3.1 kg/hr and a total recovery rate of 96% below 5 microns.
Elcan Industries, a leader in advanced material screening and separation technologies, announces a breakthrough in fine particle classification using its elbow-jet air classifier.
Elcan’s elbow-jet lab scale air classifier achieved 3.1 kg/hr and a total recovery rate of 96% below 5 microns. The middle and coarse fractions were recovered directly as products, while the fine fractions were reprocessed at an 85% yield, minimizing waste and maximizing product quality. This achievement is a game-changer for industries requiring tight particle size control, particularly in the rapidly growing battery materials industry and energy storage sector.
Graphite is a crucial material in battery manufacturing, and its performance relies heavily on achieving consistent particle sizes. With the elbow-jet air classifier, Elcan has pushed the boundaries of what is possible in material processing, ensuring that companies in the energy storage sector can meet their stringent quality demands.
“Achieving the separation of graphite particles below five microns while maintaining a 96% recovery rate of good product reflects the years of expertise, we’ve built at Elcan,” said Jason Risolo, lead quality engineer at Elcan Industries. “Our separation technology has been and continues to be pivotal in advancing the performance of energy storage materials. By consistently pushing the limits of precision and efficiency, we’re helping to drive higher-performing end-use applications for clean energy solutions in the battery industry and energy storage sector.”
Note: Elcan Industries will be exhibiting at The Battery Show North America
