American food firm Conagra Brands Inc. is giving a cash bonus to its production and distribution workers who work across 50 facilities in the US, Canada, and Mexico for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, the company announced Friday. Full time workers are slated to receive a $500 bonus, while part time workers will get $250. 

“Throughout this unprecedented time, the hard work and dedication of our supply chain employees at all of our food production and distribution facilities has been truly inspiring,” Conagra Brands Chief Executive Officer and President Sean Connolly said in a release. “I thank each team member for their extraordinary efforts to meet the needs of consumers, achieve outstanding customer service levels and keep our plants operating effectively and efficiently.”

The company also implemented of additional maintenance and sanitation processes in its facilities to keep workers and food safe. 

“Throughout this time, Conagra Brands’ facilities are continuing to operate with safety top-of-mind,” the company said. 

A new policy was also created to ensure that employees that have to miss work due to COVID-19 illness will be paid.
