The US Food & Drug Administration issued 32 recalls issued in the month of December. There were 26 food/beverage/dietary supplement products, 1 for pet food, and 5 in the drug category. This is higher than November, which had 20 recalls, 1 canceled recall, and 3 extended recalls.
Of the 26 food & beverage product recalls, 3 were due to Listeria contamination, 7 for undeclared allergens, 1 for the potential of E. coli contamination, 10 due to potential Salmonella, 2 for potential metal/foreign object inclusion, 1 for the presence of yellow oleander, 1 for undeclared drugs, and 1 for undeclared food dyes yellow 5 & yellow 6.
