6 products were recalled due to incorrect labeling

There were 20 products recalled by the US Food & Drug Administration, 1 cancelled recall, and 3 expanded recalls in November. October had 23 recalls, and September was at an all-year low at 15.

A total of 16 recalls, 1 cancellation, and 3 expansions were in the food and beverage sector, while 2 were pet/animal food products, and 2 were drugs.

Of the 16 food & beverage product recalls, 4 were due to Listeria contamination, 6 for undeclared allergens, 3 for the potential of E. coli contamination, 1 due to high levels of lead, and 2 due to potential Salmonella.

Food & Beverage

Undeclared Allergens

  • Babcock Dairy Orange Custard Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream – undeclared egg (with expansion)

  • Bowl & Basket Onion Soup Mix – undeclared egg

  • Vitality Vita dietary supplement – undeclared Sildenafil and Diclofenac

  • Boulla LLC dietary supplement – undeclared Sildenafil and Diclofenac

  • Fresh Gourmet Tortilla Strips Santa Fe Style – undeclared wheat

  • Wegmans Food Markets Asian Sesame Salad with Chicken & Asian Dressing – undeclared egg

Potential Listeria Contamination

  • HH Fresh Trading Enoki Mushrooms

  • Aldi, La Bonne Vie, other brands soft ripened cheeses including Brie, Camembert (with expansion)

  • CIBUS Fresh, Jack & Olive, and Sprig and Sprout Autumn Turkey Sandwiches due to containing Glenview Farms spreadable Brie cheese, which is under the above recall

  • Gracie’s Kitchens, King Kullen, Wild By Nature ready-to-eat fruits and vegetables

Potential E. coli Contamination

  • Grimmway Farms, supplier, under brands 365, Bunny Luv, Cal-Organic, Full Circle and others Organic whole and baby carrots (with expansion)

  • Fabash “Kickin” Carrot Falafel Bites

  • Whole Foods Market Organic Carrots & Celery

Potential of High Lead Levels

  • Super Brand “Super Dried” Cinnamon Powder

Possible Salmonella Contamination

  • Handsome Brook Farms, supplier, Kirkland Signature organic pasture-raised 24 ct. eggs

  • SunFed Produce LLC whole cucumbers

Canceled Recall

  • Church Brothers with multiple brand names including Imperial Fresh (in Canada and US), Church Brothers and Trader Joe’s (both in US) Green Onions were recalled in October due to possible Salmonella. It was found that product testing resulted in a false positive reading.

Pet Food Products

  • Gaines Pet Treats LLC Family Farmstead Chicken Chips Dog Treats

  • Carolina Prime Pet for Hollywood Feed, Carolina Made Chicken Chips Dog Treats

Drugs

  • Umary Hyaluronic Acid tablets – product contains undeclared diclofenac and omeprazole

  • Endo Inc., Par Pharmaceutical Clonazepam Orally Disintegrating Tablets – mislabeled with incorrect strength level on carton.
