Materials manufacturer Toray Plastics (America) Inc. has signed a letter of intent to sell its Old Baptist Road (OBR) manufacturing plant in North Kingston, RI to plastic films extrusion and converting firm Arlin Mfg. Co. Inc., a recent company release announced.

“Arlin also has a legacy of commitment to excellence in the manufacture of cast film and customer service, and we are very pleased to be able to acquire the plant,” said Steven Mitchell, vice president at Arlin, in a statement. “The OBR facility will complement our Trico Specialty Films division and expand our capabilities.”

Once the transaction is completed, Arlin will operate the facility and continue to serve the site’s existing customers.

The transfer of the business is slated to occur on December 31, 2021.

Toray Plastics (America) produces polyester, polypropylene, metallized film, and polypropylene and polyethylene films.
