German materials and mobility firm Hübner Group is currently commissioning a new elastomer compounding plant in Nyíregyháza, Hungary that includes a range of advanced technology and health and safety features.

“With the new compounding plant, we now have shorter transport routes and faster reaction times for our customers. With the latest technology at the new plant, we will be obtaining the best possible material characteristics for compounds using our own recipes and formulations, which we will process on-site for elastomer extrusions,” Ingolf Cedra, general manager for Hübner, said in a release. “We achieve this high quality through rigorous and detailed laboratory analyses and product testing. Our customers will also be benefiting from these advances.”

Built to the highest European Union (EU) safety standards, the facility includes the latest air dust filter solutions to conserve resources and reduce the location’s environmental impacts. The plant also has technologies that reduce its energy use by 30% and water use by 50%.

“With our own department for environmental protection and sustainability, we are focusing more strongly on developing high-quality products using recycled materials,” said Gusztáv Kádár, head of the new compounding plant project, in a statement. “This is the key to a cleaner and more healthy future. This is how we want to reach our goal of continuing to minimize our ecological footprint.”

The company will integrate production of rubber compounds for Hübner seals from its Palotás-Mix Kft. (P-Mix) facility in Kemeneshogyész, Hungary at the Nyíregyháza site.
