A manufacturer of pretzels and other snack products, Pretzels Inc., held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday in Plymouth, IN to mark the opening of its new $18 million production plant there, several local news organizations reported.

Company officials said the 45,000-sq-ft plant is operational and that 40 workers have been hired thus far, Inside Indiana Business reported. Purchasing the structure in October 2016, shipments from the site commenced last April.

The operations in Plymouth, focused on the production of peanut butter and bulk pretzel products, replace a factory in Pennsylvania and are the firm’s second manufacturing site in Indiana. Pretzels Inc. said the Plymouth site will make one of the company’s most rapidly-growing products – peanut butter-filled pretzel nuggets.

Bluffton, IN-based Pretzels Inc. was founded in 1978 and employs 300 workers across its footprint.
