Employees at the Nestle Purina plant in Clinton, IA were briefly evacuated on Saturday morning after an electrical short sent smoke into a processing area of the facility, several area news organizations reported.

Firefighters remained on the scene for an hour and a half, determining the incident was caused by a short in a piece of electrical equipment, the Clinton Herald reported. No injuries were reported.

Employees at the plant were evacuated from the facility while smoke was present, according to coverage by Davenport, IA-based NBC News affiliate KWQC.

“Safety is our number one priority and we evacuated out of an abundance of caution,” the manager of the Nestle Purina plant, Amy Kerr, said in a statement released to KWQC.

The company statement thanked first responders for their help.
