Ice Cream Maker Turkey Hill Buys Plant in Arkansas

Ice cream and refrigerated beverages manufacturer and distributor Turkey Hill LLC recently purchased a 100,000-sq-ft ice cream and frozen novelty products production facility in Searcy, AR from Yarnell Ice Cream, the firm’s owner, private equity firm Peak Rock Capital, announced in a release Wednesday.

“We are delighted that Turkey Hill has closed this acquisition,” said Rob Pistilli, managing director of Peak Rock Capital, in a statement. “This investment comes with significant capacity expansion and novelty production capabilities that will enhance Turkey Hill’s brand appeal and ability to service and grow its loyal customer base.”

In addition to the acquisition, Turkey Hill will continue to produce ice cream for the Yarnell’s brand for Schulze & Burch Biscuit Company, the owner of Yarnell Ice Cream.

“The addition of this facility in Arkansas highlights the company’s commitment to geographic expansion. Over the last year, Turkey Hill has experienced strong and growing consumer demand nationwide, and the strategic location of this facility will enable us to serve consumers across the United States for years to come,” Turkey Hill Chief Executive Officer Tim Hopkins said in the release. “We look forward to welcoming the employees at the Searcy facility to our Turkey Hill family.”

Turkey Hill’s ice cream and refrigerated beverages are sold in retail, foodservice, and alternative channels.
