Process automation and measurement solutions firm Endress+Hauser recently inaugurated a new, €10.4 million (about $11.8 million) production site in Nesselwang, Germany that will focus on the manufacturing of temperature and system products, the firm announced in a press release Monday. The company held a ceremony on October 26 to dedicate the 4800-sq-m facility, which includes production areas, as well as office space.

“We are constantly investing in our centers of competence in order to develop persuasive solutions for our customers and to increase production efficiency,” Matthias Altendorf, the chief executive officer of the Endress+Hauser Group, said in a statement.

Endress+Hauser said the new plant adds needed space for research and development, production, logistics and quality assurance.

“We will continue to expand and round out our temperature and system product portfolio so that we can be in a position to optimally serve our customers in the future as well,” said Altendorf.

The new plant also includes a number of sustainability-oriented features, including a photovoltaic system on the site’s roof to power production assets and E-bike charging stations.
