Pharma Technology Inc. (PTI), a specialty manufacturer of innovative tablet dedusters and capsule polishers combined with metal detectors and loading systems for pharmaceutical solid dose production, has appointed Nic Michel to the title of general manager, making him the company’s top executive in North America. The Belgium-based company recently opened a U.S. headquarters in Piscataway, NJ, from which it can service all new and existing customers in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, with equipment sales, spare parts, and maintenance programs.

Michel’s responsibilities include cultivating new sales relationships while servicing established ones, overseeing equipment sales and servicing, and expanding Pharma Technology Inc.’s brand and market share in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.

The changes come in the midst of a busy year for Pharma Technology Inc., as the company expands upon its established reputation as tableting specialists and single point of contact for all tablet/capsule dedusting and metal detection needs, with an emphasis on service. In April, PTI debuted its AIO deduster & tester system at INTERPHEX in New York City. Short for “All In One,” the AIO builds upon the company’s signature PharmaFlex family of dedusters by offering turnkey peripheral devices as integrated solutions. The system’s sophisticated engineering affords flexibility, while meeting high standards for output and quality of dedusting.

Prior to joining Pharma Technology Inc., Michel was product manager for Bosch Packaging Technology Inc. Before that, he served as vice president, Pharmaceutical Process Div. for Oystar IWK USA Inc. Earlier in his career he worked as sales manager/key account manager for UK-based Manesty Parts & Service.

Michel earned a Masters degree in Exports Marketing from Graduate University of Nantes, France.
