Industrial packaging materials and paperboard converting firm Atlantic Packaging intends to invest $4.5 million in an expansion project at its Dorchester County facility in South Carolina to increase the site’s distribution and warehousing capabilities, South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster announced in a recent release.

“Our Dorchester County location gives us a strategic advantage to best serve our key customers in the region, which is evident in the robust growth we’ve seen in every facet of our business here. We’re thrilled to add new jobs in the county and look forward to continued success here,” the firm’s president, Wes Carter, said in a statement.

The project includes a 100,000-sq-ft addition to the site that will aid Atlantic Packaging in increasing production and warehouse capacity. Part of the added square footage will be used for climate-controlled warehousing space.

10 new jobs will be created as a result of the company’s investment. The site is slated to become operational by the fall of this year.
